Gasometer Dietrich

Used for the determination of CaCO₃ especially in limestone and lime marl. It consists of a glass container in which the reaction between the calcium carbonate contained in the products and a solution of hydrochloric acid takes place. The gas given off is collected with the container. Being measured the volume of gas (CO₂) given off it can be related with the quantity of CaCO₃ contained in the sample.
