CHARACTERISTICS
EN 480-13 sand is composed of natural silica sand (silica content greater than 97%) with a water content less than 0.1%. Its average density is 2.63 t / m3. The constituent grains of these sands are uncrushed and rounded in shape. The sand is packaged in a 3440 ± 10 g bag. It is intended for making reference masonry cement mortars to judge the effectiveness of the admixture.
CONTROLS
The granularity of the sand for masonry mortar is set by standard EN 480-13. The particle size range to be observed is given in the following table:
